At about 4:00 p.m. on October 24, revolutionary forces entered and attacked the military council checkpoint in Myohaung Village, Ye Township, killing three soldiers including one sergeant major and wounding four others.

The attack was carried out by members of the Ramanya Mon Army (RMA), and the revolutionary fighters were able to withdraw without casualties.

The RMA's Information and Public Relations Department stated that the checkpoint had been one that oppressed local civilians in various ways and extorted money from them, which was why it was targeted in the attack.
