Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA have repelled suspected terrorists during an operation around Sabon Birni village in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred at about 10:45 a.m. on Oct. 24, when troops of 26 Battalion, deployed at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Sabon Birni, responded to reports of suspected terrorist activities in the area.

The sources said the troops engaged the suspected terrorists, forcing them to withdraw in disarray.

Following the encounter, the troops maintained dominance over the general area through sustained patrols to deter further threats and prevent the suspected terrorists from regrouping.

Zagazola Makama reports that troops continue to maintain an operational presence in the area to protect lives and property and prevent further criminal activities.
