Bhamo: Another Airstrike Near Konlaw New Town Bridge, Two Travelers Killed

Myat Nyo, October 25, Bhamo

Residents said that two travelers were killed when the military council forces carried out another airstrike near the Konlaw New Town Bridge in Bhamo, Kachin State, on October 24.

“The military council carried out another aerial bombing of the Bhamo New Town Bridge at around 11 a.m. There, two travelers who were passing through were hit and killed,” a local man said.

He said the two people killed by bomb fragments were women and were two visiting travelers from Shwegu Township, an area under KIA Battalion 5.

“They came and bombed once yesterday and once again today (October 24). It has become continuous. If you're riding a motorcycle, you won't hear the aircraft,” another local man said.

He said that because the road is good, the speed of the motorcycle, the sound of the wind, and the aircraft noise may have prevented people from hearing the aircraft, and that in areas where the military situation is tense, if anyone hears aircraft sounds, it is safer to stop rather than continue traveling.

At around 10 a.m. on October 23, the military also carried out aerial bombings that destroyed the Myothit Suspension Bridge and the Taungtha Thitgyi Bridge.
