In the municipality of Ario de Rosales, Michoacán, the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) has opened an investigation following an armed attack carried out by a group of gunmen inside a home located in the town of La Palma de Altamirano. The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, when the gunmen stormed the property after exiting a vehicle with improvised armor—commonly referred to as a "monster" (*monstruo*). Once inside the residence, the individuals opened fire indiscriminately using assault rifles—weapons restricted for the exclusive use of the armed forces. Three men lost their lives in the attack: 24-year-old Alexis Cervantes Barrera, 19-year-old Jesús Antonio Saucedo Pineda, and 18-year-old José Emilio Jiménez García. Additionally, 58-year-old Francisco Pineda Marín and 14-year-old Jesús Tadeo Martínez Cazares were wounded; they were provided with emergency assistance and transported to a regional hospital, where they remain hospitalized under police custody. Forensic experts and investigative agents processed the crime scene to collect ballistic evidence. As part of the investigation, authorities seized two motorcycles found on the property. These are now undergoing forensic analysis to determine whether they were used in the commission of previous crimes in the region.
