Magway, October 21

According to no fewer than two local sources, in Pauk Township, Magway Region, prisoners of war captured during the battle to seize Myitche Police Station escaped today (October 21) under the leadership of a regional medical unit member named Phoe Thar, taking weapons and ammunition with them and holding three guards hostage.

The Pakokku District Pa Ka Pha (People's Defence Team) said:

“They are prisoners of war from Myitche Police Station. Search and blockade operations are being carried out. Clues have been found again. Due to detention facility requirements, the district military command requested assistance from a location that has a detention facility and was holding them there.”

A township Pa Ah Pha (People's Administration Team) member from Pakokku District also confirmed the escape.
