Air Delivered event in Pyar Thu Kywe area, Myanmar on Tue 20th October 2026

In Rakhine State, in Wira Thanae (Pauktaw Township) and Ponnagyun Town, two villagers were killed and at least six people were injured after the military junta forces carried out nighttime bombing attacks, according to local residents.

A local official said that at around 10 p.m. on October 20, Wira Thanae (Pauktaw Township), among at least five other locations, came under aerial bombardment.

“Yesterday they attacked Pyar Thu Kywel, Myot Htet, the Dhakoing Taung mountain range, the Pinne Chaung Taung mountain range, and around Krain Khwe Maw. According to preliminary information, two people were killed and six people were injured.”

The military junta forces dropped two bombs from a Y-12 aircraft on Taungphu in Wira Thanae (Pauktaw Township) and on Pyar Thu Kywel Village on the opposite bank. As a result, U Nay Win (41) and Daw Khin Oo (36) from Pyar Thu Kywel Village were killed, while U Maung San Yu (40) and Daw Khin Yaing Nu (34) each sustained injuries.

At the same time, the junta also dropped eight bombs from a Y-12 aircraft on Wards 1, 2, and 4 of Wira Thanae (Pauktaw) town. As a result, four people, including Maung Sit Nyein Naing (16) and U Ba Tha (53) from Ward No. 4, were injured, and houses were destroyed.

A male resident of Ponnagyun also said:

“Yesterday, from 11:40 p.m. until after midnight, two jet aircraft carried out strikes. Everything fell inside Ponnagyun town. There were casualties.”

According to a local military source, intense fighting between the military and the Arakan Army (AA) had been ongoing since shortly after 9 p.m. the previous night on Ngapyi Island in Wira Thanae (Pauktaw Township), and the military was receiving fire support not only from jets and Y-12 aircraft but also from the navy.
