Projectile event in Myinmu area, Myanmar on Sun 18th October 2026

[In] Myinmu Township, Sagaing Region, artillery was fired indiscriminately from a terrorist military checkpoint at the Myaung road junction toward Kyaw Min Village despite there being no fighting. As a result, three civilians were injured and a monastery and homes were damaged, an official from Myaung Township T.G.R. True News Information told the Yangon Khit Thit News Agency.

At approximately 5:30 p.m. on October 18, the terrorist military stationed at the Myaung road junction in Myinmu Township fired four artillery rounds indiscriminately despite there being no fighting, and the shells landed and exploded inside Kyaw Min Village.

As a result of the shelling, Daw Hlaing Hlaing, aged over 50, Daw Than Nwe, aged over 50, and Daw Tin Hlaing, aged 60, residents of Kyaw Min Village, were injured. Domestic animals (cattle) were also injured, and the village monastery and several civilian homes were damaged.

"The military council forces fired artillery indiscriminately despite there being no fighting. Because of that shelling, three village women, Daw Hlaing Hlaing, Daw Than Nwe and Daw Tin Hlaing, were injured. The cattle were also injured, and the monastery and civilian houses were damaged. The military fired four artillery rounds. The houses were punctured and damaged by artillery fragments," an official from Myaung Township T.G.R. True News Information said.
