A couple living in the Yehle neighborhood of Chaung U Township were shot and died on the spot.

Residents of Chaung U told Yangon New Media that a couple with ties to the terrorist army living in the Ye Hle neighborhood in Chaung U town, Sagaing Region, were shot dead in their home.

On the evening of October 14, gunmen entered the home of a couple living in the Yehle neighborhood in Chaung U town and shot them, killing both of them on the spot.

"It is known that a house was opened fire on the evening of October 14. It is known that the couple died on the spot. The couple is affiliated with the military. It is not yet known which organization or armed group fired the shots," said a local source from Chaung U town.

Yangon Times has contacted the Chaung U Township-based revolutionary forces regarding the incident, but no organization has commented on the incident.

The couple who were shot and killed were identified as Ko Aye Min Tun and Ma Khine Zin Phyo. They were involved in gambling and money lending, and it is believed that they were involved in financial matters as the military and the Pyu Saw Htee dominated Chaung U town.

"The couple works two or three jobs. They borrow money at interest. They have a lot of money coming in and out of their homes," said a source in the city.

It is reported that the terrorist army's troops are mainly based in Chaung U, and the entrances and exits of the city are mainly controlled by the army and the Pyu Saw Htee.
