An official from Minbu District Battalion No. 5 told Yangon Khit Thit News Agency that a military checkpoint belonging to the State Administration Council (SAC) forces near Myaenigone Village, Salin Township, Magway Region, was attacked with drone-dropped bombs, resulting in injuries to several SAC soldiers including an officer, and there may also have been fatalities.
The attack occurred at approximately 6:00 p.m. on October 20. Resistance forces used an FPV drone to bomb SAC troops stationed at a fixed base in Myaenigone Village along the Salin-Kanbya road, according to reports.
According to Minbu District Battalion No. 5, approximately 25 SAC soldiers, including an officer, were stationed at the checkpoint, and the attack specifically targeted SAC troops who had frequently been carrying out drone bombing attacks against nearby villages and areas where civilians live.
During the attack, several soldiers from the SAC forces, including an officer and a soldier operating a drone jammer, were injured, and there may also have been fatalities.
An official from Minbu District Battalion No. 5 stated:
"It is the military checkpoint near Myaenigone Village on the Salin-Kanbya road. It is a base that repeatedly carries out bombing attacks against villages and places where civilians live. There may have been deaths. According to reconnaissance-drone footage, the drone entered a small building where they were staying and exploded, and the explosion was powerful."
The attack was carried out by personnel from the Drone Unit of Minbu District Battalion No. 5 under the direction of the Minbu District Military Command. The battalion official said that the resistance forces were able to withdraw without suffering any casualties.
In addition, an official from Minbu District Battalion No. 5 said that some SAC soldiers and members of Pyu Saw Htee militias have been falsely using the names of resistance groups operating within Salin Township to telephone civilians and business owners and threaten them for money.
It is reported that some civilians have submitted complaints to resistance forces stating that SAC soldiers in Salin Town and throughout Salin Township have been using various resistance organisation names to telephone civilians and business owners in Salin Town and Shinbyuyun Town, threatening them and demanding sums ranging from tens of millions to hundreds of millions of kyat.
"Some members of the military and affiliated Pyu groups inside Salin Township are extorting money using the names of resistance organisations, and some civilians have reported this to us. That is how we became aware of it," explained an official from Minbu District Battalion No. 5.
The resistance organisations warned that they never make telephone calls to civilians to extort money or demand funds through threats, and that people associated with the SAC military are currently using the names of resistance organisations to carry out such extortion and intimidation. They therefore urged the public not to transfer money in response to such demands.
They further stated that anyone wishing to provide support for the revolution should contact the relevant resistance organisations through their official public information channels before providing assistance.
