Projectile event in Sagaing, Thabyepin area, Myanmar on Tue 20th October 2026

Local residents told the Yangon Khit Thit News Agency that villagers are being forced to flee en masse because a military column of the terrorist army is entering and firing upon villages near Sagaing Town in Sagaing Region.

On 20 October, a military column of the terrorist army that had arrived in Nyaungkon Village near Sagaing Town split into separate units and raided Thabyepin Village and Nepukon Village, while indiscriminately firing heavy and small arms at nearby villages, according to reports.

After carrying out the shooting, the column left Thabyepin Village and Nepukon Village, then entered and raided Taegyi Village, where it moved around the village firing small arms. Due to this military column, residents of Nyaungkon Village, Thabyepin Village, Nepukon Village, and Taegyi Village, along with residents from nearby villages, have been forced to flee to safety.

"There wasn't even any fighting. The military dogs are simply entering the villages and shooting. How could civilians remain there? They're firing heavy and small weapons. I haven't heard of any civilians being injured," said one local resident.
