On 11 October 2026, afternoon, around 16:00 Muscat time, IRGC forces launched 1 unknown projectile (coded as air/drone strike based on previous activity) that directly impacted the Angola Prosperity crude oil tanker (VLCC) (IMO: 9896414) as it was transiting outbound in the Strait of Hormuz (coded to Coast of Kumzar) (Khasab, Musandam). The projectile struck the tanker's port side, causing damage to the vessel. There were no casualties. Concurrently, the IRGC issued a statement claiming that a giant oil tanker hit an Iranian naval mine, triggering an explosion and fire while transiting an 'unauthorized' route in the Strait.
