On 3 October 2021, Iraqi airstrikes targeted IS snipers near the Diyala provincial border on the outskirts of Sarhah village in Salah al Din province. The strikes enable the reopening of the Diyala - Kirkuk Road to civilians. The road had been previously cut of due to IS sniper activity. There were no confirmed fatalities.
