On 10 October 2026, the Nigerian Air Force conducted airstrikes on an ISWAP enclave in Badu village (Nganzai, Borno). The airstrike killed more than 40 fighters, including a commander, and injured at least 20. The militants were part of ISWAP's Murabitun unit, a specialized mobile fighting unit responsible for conducting patrols, coordinating attacks, and sustaining terrorist activities along the Gudumbali-Kukawa-Gajiram corridor. The airstrike also destroyed two vehicles and about 20 motorcycles. Other militants arrived the following day to retrieve corpses and surviving casualties and engaged Fulani pastoralists around the area in a clash (coded separately).
