On 10 October 2026, evening, around 23:20 Muscat time, IRGC forces launched 1 unknown projectile (coded as air/drone strike based on previous activity) that directly impacted the Valthera crude oil tanker (IMO: 9296389) while transiting the Strait of Hormuz outbound (coded to Coast of Kumzar) (Khasab, Musandam). The projectile struck the tanker's port side, causing a fire onboard. There were no casualties. Concurrently, the IRGC released a statement claiming that an outbound tanker suffered a 'massive explosion' and fire after hitting an Iranian naval mine while transiting an 'unauthorized' route in the Strait, though the claim was not corroborated.
