On 15 October 2026, the Malian army claimed to have conducted an airstrike on a gathering point of a militant group (likely JNIM, based on the group's presence and previous similar operations against them in the Macina cercle) concealed under vegetation 1.5km west of Tongolo-Coura (Kolongo, Macina, Segou). The army claimed that the site was 'precisely struck' and that those who fled were pursued (by unspecified means). Casualties unknown.
