On 12 October 2026, the Malian army conducted eight or nine airstrikes on unspecified targets in Nzanakoro (Kolongo, Macina, Segou). At least 8 Fulani people were killed, including children and at least four women, one of them pregnant. Another 10 civilians were also injured, including more women and children. The airstrikes took place after a baptism ceremony and destroyed the whole village.
