A woman carrying rice was killed and family members injured after the junta bombed with a drone in western Moebye

According to local residents, a 30-year-old woman from a family that had gone to transport rice was killed when junta forces carried out a drone bombing attack on Kaungsaung Village in the western part of Moebye, on the Shan South-Karenni border, on the afternoon of 16 October.

A local resident said that there was no fighting on that day and that the drone pursued and attacked the family's farm vehicle (htawlar-gyi) that was being used to transport rice.

"They were attacked by a drone while going to collect rice. There was no fighting at all that day."

As a result of the attack, several members of the family were injured. According to a local resident close to the family, the deceased was a 30-year-old daughter-in-law, while her son suffered severe injuries and was in a critical condition. Another family member was also injured and was receiving medical treatment.

Regarding the incident, a local woman said:

"If Moebye residents do not farm, they have nothing to eat. But if they do farm, they have to risk their lives. It is truly discouraging."

Local sources also said that on the night of 16 October, military bombs landed and exploded in western Moebye and western Demoso.

Therefore, revolutionary forces have urged local residents to be especially alert to drone and airstrike threats and to take necessary precautionary measures.
