12 civilians, including an infant, killed after Starlink shop in Thigyitaw Village, Yesagyo, was bombed

Magway, 16 October

According to two ground sources who spoke to Red Peacock News Media, a large number of civilians were killed after the terrorist military carried out repeated airstrikes on a Starlink shop in Thigyitaw Village, Yesagyo Township, Magway Region.

Today (16 October), at around 3:00 p.m., the terrorist military carried out air attacks on the Starlink shop used by the public, employing fighter jets, MI-35 attack helicopters, and suicide drones.

A local resident said:

"There was nobody there. There was an infant being carried in someone's arms. Altogether, four suicide drones and two sorties by Nyaung-U-based MI-35s were involved. Two fighter jets also came."

In video footage viewed by Red Peacock, the bodies of an infant, three men, two women, and one child who had lost their lives could be seen.

Previously, on 9 June 2022, after revolutionary forces attacked the Hsinbyushin Bridge Gate Outpost, the terrorist military burned and destroyed Thigyitaw Village on 10 June and 29 June.

Regarding that arson incident, Red Peacock News Media stated that when it cross-checked using Google Earth Pro, burned areas could be seen east of Thigyitaw Village.

Pro-military propaganda Telegram channels, however, are claiming that reports of those killed in this airstrike are false propaganda being spread by Yesagyo PDF forces.

The Myanmar Lawyers Council announced on 14 September that from 2021 through 2026, the terrorist military had conducted 10,500 airstrikes nationwide, resulting in the deaths of more than 6,000 civilians.

The Myanmar Lawyers Council also pointed out that responsibility for these airstrikes lies not only with the terrorist military but also with the government responsible for overseeing it.
