Air Delivered event in Singu Township, Sint-Oe Kyun Island area, Myanmar on Sun 18th October 2026
18th October 2026
It is understood from local residents that the military junta attacked displacement shelters on Sint-Oe Kyun Island in Singu Township, Mandalay Region, by dropping bombs from a drone at 6:16 PM on 18 October.
As a result of the bombing, 3 civilians were killed, and it is understood that a 5-year-old child and a woman were injured.
A local villager said: “We had fled to the island because a State Administration Council military column was coming, and the military attacked us by dropping bombs from a drone. They are truly despicable people. The drone came and dropped bombs twice. Because of that, a man about 55 years old, a 48-year-old woman, and a woman around 30 years old, a total of 3 people, were killed. In addition, four women, including a 5-year-old child, were injured, and one woman around 45 years old was seriously wounded.”
It is also understood that the displaced people were residents from villages along the Ayeyarwady River in Singu Township.
A responsible official from the Singu Township People’s Defence Team (Pa Ka Pha) said: “It is confirmed that the military carried out this drone attack on the displaced people on Sint-Oe Kyun Island from Shwe Byat Monastery in Singu Township. These people did something they should not have done. One could even question whether doing such wrongful acts is really the conduct of the SAC’s military forces. I would also like to urge the public to be especially careful of airstrike threats.”
Because the military junta has repeatedly suffered defeats on the ground at the hands of the People’s Defence Forces, it is no longer distinguishing between civilian and military targets and is carrying out daily aerial bombing attacks.
