Air Delivered event in Rathedaung area, Myanmar on Sun 18th October 2026

Myanmar military junta forces dropped at least 10 bombs on Rathedaung town in Arakan State during an overnight aerial bombardment, according to local sources.

"The bombing took place between 1:00 AM and 2:00 AM," a local resident told Narinjara. "Initial reports suggest there were casualties; a young child sustained minor injuries, and a cow was also struck.  Fortunately, I have heard there were no fatalities."

According to latest reports, the bombs detonated across multiple locations within the town, includingMunicipal Road, near the home of Daw Ma Than Soe, Chaung Wa ward, near the residence of U Zaw Zaw Win, The vicinity of Basic Education High School (BEHS) No. 2 and the Alo Daw Pyae Monastery and The Gu Ta Pyin ward area.

"Because the town center is currently deserted, major casualties appear to have been avoided," another local resident stated. "However, I heard that a child in the Gu Ta Pyin ward sustained a minor hand injury."

While some reports suggest up to five people, including a woman, were injured during the multi-ward bombardment, Narinjara has not yet been able to independently verify these numbers.

"The airstrikes primarily targeted areas within the town and the nearby vicinity of Pyin Khaung," another resident added. "It is also reported that drones and heavy artillery were used to strike the Moe Sae Kyun area."

This is the second major attack on the town this month. On the night of October 3, a previous junta aerial bombardment on Rathedaung resulted in two deaths, including a schoolgirl, and left several others injured.
