A joint team from the CTI, the Army, and Ecopetrol came under attack Wednesday, September 23, in rural Timba, Cauca, by suspected FARC dissidents. The officials were investigating illegal hydrocarbon trafficking when they were hit with drones, explosives, and rifle fire. Authorities attribute the assault to the Jaime Martínez structure. One CTI vehicle was damaged by gunfire. Investigators withdrew from the area while Army troops stayed to confront the attackers.
