Violent incidents continue in Cancun, where, in the last few hours, the murder of an Uber driver—who was on duty at the time—has been reported. Additionally, the body of a man who had been executed was discovered in the same area where the body of a woman was found a few days ago. Regarding one of these incidents, it was reported that in the early hours of Wednesday, October 14—around 2:00 a.m.—a driver was attacked in the La Joya residential development, located in Supermanzana 254. Local residents alerted authorities by calling the 911 emergency number. Initial reports indicate that the Uber driver was attacked with a bladed weapon; he sustained a neck wound that proved fatal. His vehicle was later discovered in a different, more distant part of the residential area. While the exact motive for the attack remains unknown, it is believed that the perpetrators may have attempted to steal the driver’s vehicle—an attempt that failed, though they succeeded in killing the driver.
