A man, approximately 30 years old, sustained a gunshot wound after being pursued by an armed individual. The incident occurred in broad daylight in front of an elementary school in the Atoyac de Álvarez neighborhood, in the municipality of Guadalupe. According to initial reports, the victim was being chased by the alleged assailant through several streets in the neighborhood. Upon reaching Antonio Flores Garza Street, near the intersection with Héctor Flores Street, the man attempted to reach safety; finding a residence with an open gate, he entered seeking shelter. However, the assailant reportedly followed him into the property and opened fire. The man was left wounded on the porch of the residence—numbered 2229—where a family was present at the time. Following the attack, the alleged perpetrator fled the scene and disappeared into the neighborhood’s streets. As of now, there is no information available to establish his identity. Paramedics from the Mexican Red Cross treated the wounded man and subsequently transported him to the Metropolitan Hospital. Preliminary reports indicate that he sustained a gunshot wound to one of his legs. Officers from the Guadalupe Police arrived at the scene, cordoned off the area, and began initial investigative procedures. They gathered information from neighbors in an effort to obtain details that could help identify and locate the alleged perpetrator. Personnel from the Institute of Criminalistics and Forensic Services were expected to arrive shortly to conduct a formal inspection and collect evidence at the scene.
