The Veracruz State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) is investigating the murder of 33-year-old physician Cristina Ramos Argüello under the protocol for femicide. Her body was discovered with at least 13 stab wounds inside her home, located in the Santa Cecilia residential area in the municipality of Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz. According to initial investigative findings, the victim—who worked as a medical specialist at the IMSS-Bienestar Maternal and Child Hospital and the ISSSTE Hospital in Coatzacoalcos—was attacked inside the bathroom of her home. Forensic analysis indicated that, at the time the body was discovered, the time since death was estimated to be between 24 and 36 hours.
