Villages in Kyaikto and Myinmu Townships Attacked by the Military with Artillery and Drones Despite No Fighting; Some Civilians Injured and Homes Damaged

Villages in Kyaikto Township, Mon State, and Myinmu Township, Sagaing Region, were attacked by the military with drone bomb strikes and artillery fire despite the absence of any fighting, resulting in injuries to some civilians and damage to homes, according to local residents and the T.G.R. News and Information Team from Myaung Township.

Yesterday, October 9, between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., the military used two drones launched from the 44th Light Infantry Division Headquarters to carry out four separate bombing attacks on Zee Kone Village in Ngat Pyaw Taw Village Tract, Kyaikto Township, despite there being no fighting, local residents told the Yangon Khit Thit news agency.

It is reported that no civilians were injured in the attack, but one house was damaged.

“The soldiers carried out bombing attacks four times even though there was no fighting. Due to the drone attack by the soldiers, no civilians were injured, but one house was damaged,” said a local news source.
