7th October 2026
On 7 October 2026, Houthi forces fired 2 ballistic missiles and launched bomb-laden drones at Aden - Aden International Airport (Khur Maksar, Aden). One missile fell near the runway minutes before a Yemenia Airways flight arriving from Cairo was due to land, the flight was diverted to Jeddah and 2 aircraft on the ground were moved away. Houthi forces said they had targeted Saudi military supplies that had arrived at the Badr camp next to the airport and claimed Saudi officers were killed and wounded. One source reported that the airport's main terminal was not damaged and that the strikes hit the coastal highway west of the airport and a nearby residential area. The Aden Security Department reported no human losses. Fatalities coded as 0 following the most conservative estimate.
