On 9 October 2026, afternoon, around 14:00 Abu Dhabi time, suspected Iranian forces (coded as IRGC by default) launched an unspecified projectile (coded as air/drone strike based on previous activity) that directly impacted the Gem No. 2 crude oil tanker (VLCC) (IMO: 9735373) while at anchor in UAE territorial waters around 13 nm northwest off Al Hamra Village (coded to Coast of Al Hamra Village) (Ras Al Khaymah), causing a fire that was later extinguished. There were no casualties.
