On 8 October 2026, in Pekon township (Taunggyi district, Shan-South state), the Myanmar military conducted airstrikes and dropped bombs with a K-8W fighter jet that came from Nansam airbase and fired heavy weapons from 2:30 to 3 pm which fell and exploded in an unspecified village in the western part of the township. 2 locals were killed and at least 10 were injured. 2 fatalities.
