On 8 October 2026, between Myaung township and Chaung-U township (coded as Myaung) (Sagaing district, Sagaing region), the Myanmar military conducted three air strikes using a jet fighter aircraft and dropped two bombs. The airstrike hit the Pan Hla monastery at around 1:00 pm. The airstrike damaged nearly all structures on site, including the main hall, the ordination hall, and the monks' bathing area. The airstrikes injured 2 Buddhist monks.
