On 4 October 2026, the Malian army claimed to have conducted airstrikes on two positions held by a militant group (likely JNIM and or FLA, based on the presence of both groups in the Anefif commune and previous similar operations against them in the area) north-east of Anefis (Anefif, Kidal, Kidal). The army claimed that the positions were 'precisely struck'. Casualties unknown. Between 4 - 5 October, the Malian army also conducted airstrikes on the nearby village of Alkit (coded separately), but it remained unknown whether it was the same airstrike.
