On 4 October 2026, a Sukhoi Su-24 bomber (likely operated by Africa Corps, as the actor known to be operating this aircraft in Mali) conducted airstrikes on Kidal (Kidal, Kidal, Kidal). On the same day, the Malian army claimed to have conducted airstrikes and 'successfully neutralized' four positions held by a militant group in Kidal (likely JNIM and/or FLA, based on the presence of both groups in the area and previous similar operations against them in and around Kidal). FLA sources claimed instead that the airstrikes targeted unspecified civilian locations and caused material damage. Casualties unknown.
