On 4 October 2026, the Malian army claimed to have conducted airstrikes on a group of armed militants riding motorcycles and attempting to cross a river by boat (likely JNIM, based on the group's presence and previous similar operations against it in the Djenne circle) 35km south of Djenne, coded to Touara (Dandougou Fakala, Djenne, Mopti), a village located by the Bani river about 25km south of Djenne. The army claimed that the positions were 'precisely struck'. Casualties unknown.
