On 3 October 2026, an IED planted by an armed group (likely JNIM, based on the group's presence and previous militant activity in the Dioumara Koussata commune) detonated after being stepped on by a convoy of three Malian army armored vehicles between the villages of Dioumara and Torodo, coded to Bongongo (Dioumara Koussata, Diema, Kayes), a midpoint between the two locations. Casualties unknown. JNIM claimed the attack on 3 October.
