On the afternoon of 10 October, Russian forces attacked a medical facility in the Slobidskyi district of Kharkiv. Several people were injured as a result of the attack.

This was reported by the mayor, Ihor Terekhov.

Updated at 15:52. A State Emergency Service (SES) rescuer, who was injured whilst extinguishing a fire at the polyclinic in the Slobidskyi district of Kharkiv, was given medical attention at the scene, according to the regional SES. The fire, which broke out as a result of the strike, has now been extinguished, the agency added.

Updated at 14:09. Five people are currently known to have been injured as a result of the attack on the health centre in the Slobidskyi district of Kharkiv, Terekhov told Suspilne.

“Preliminary reports suggest it was a ‘Banderole’. There was a direct hit on the health centre — our medical facility, run by the Kharkiv City Council. Work is currently underway: both search and rescue operations and fire-fighting efforts,” he said.

It was a Saturday, a day off, but the clinic was open. There were visitors present, and an ‘air raid alert’ was issued in good time.

As of 13:00, at least four people are known to have been injured. Two women, aged 42 and 63, were hospitalised; a 53-year-old woman received treatment at the scene; and a 32-year-old woman suffered an acute stress reaction, according to Oleg Sinehubov, head of the Regional State Administration.

Among the injured was a State Emergency Service employee, Terekhov reported.

According to Terekhov, the strike occurred between the fourth and fifth floors of the building, with three floors on fire.
