At night, Russian troops attacked the railway infrastructure of the Korosten community in the Zhytomyr region. A fire broke out, one person was injured.

Korosten City Mayor Volodymyr Moskalenko reported on his Facebook page that on October 10 at 7:32 a.m. during an air alert, a Russian drone hit a critical infrastructure facility of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia in Korosten.

The blast wave damaged the windows of approximately ten residential buildings in the area of ​​Shevchenko Street, as well as Ukrzaliznytsia equipment.

The exact number of damaged windows and the amount of damage are being determined.

This was reported by the head of the Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration, Vitaliy Bunechko.

According to him, at night, Russian troops attacked the railway infrastructure of the Korosten community in the Zhytomyr region. The drone strike caused a fire.

The fire was extinguished by rescuers from the State Emergency Service. The work was complicated by the constant threat of repeated strikes.

One person was injured in the attack. After receiving medical attention, she refused to be hospitalized.

Also in a comment to the Public, the press officer of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Zhytomyr region, Iryna Romanyuk, said that at night Russian troops attacked a transport infrastructure facility in Korosten. As a result of the strike, a fire broke out, which rescuers extinguished under the threat of repeated attacks. 12 rescuers and three pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire.

Previously, Suspilne wrote that on October 5, Russian troops attacked Berdychiv in the Zhytomyr region. In the Chervona Hora neighborhood, a drone crashed into a multi-story residential building. As a result, an apartment and balconies on several floors caught fire. There were no fatalities.
