🚨 Reported double airstrikes on Taung Hpu

Local news agencies have reported that the Myanmar Air Force (MAF) conducted an airstrike on Taung Hpu Village in Pauktaw Township, Rakhine State, at around 01:00 local time on 20 September 2026.

The late-night airstrike reportedly killed one woman and severely injured another. A local monastery, a school, and several residential homes in the village were also reportedly damaged.

A second airstrike reportedly occurred at approximately 05:45 local time on the same day; however, no casualties or damages have been reported yet.

Myanmar Witness geolocated the damaged structures to Taung Hpu Village by cross-referencing key landmarks in social media photos with satellite imagery on Google Earth.
