Amritsar Rural Police dismantled an alleged Pakistan-linked terror module with the arrest of Navjot Singh alias Cheema and the recovery of an AK-47 rifle, two hand grenades, nine live cartridges, a magazine, a mobile phone and a motorcycle in Amritsar District on October 4, reports The News Mill. Inspector General of Police (Border Range) Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said the weapons and explosives had allegedly been smuggled into India using drones. The investigation revealed alleged links to a Pakistan-based handler associated with the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and another handler based in the Middle East. Bhullar said the accused had allegedly been tasked with transporting the weapons to a location in a neighbouring district, where he was to meet an associate through a cut-out arrangement, with further instructions and the exact location to be provided later. The accused had allegedly been promised up to INR 50,000 for completing the task but had not received any payment before his arrest.
