SAA event in Malmö area, Sweden on Thu 8th October 2026

Police were called to an address in eastern Malmö on Thursday evening after a shooting. A boy under the age of 15 was arrested and has been handed over to social services. No one was injured.

The police confirmed on Friday morning that Thursday evening's call was about suspected gunfire at a villa.

At the scene, it was found that there were suspicious bullet holes in a window and the home was cordoned off for a technical examination.

Boy arrested – on the verge of fleeing

Just under an hour later, the police were able to arrest a boy under the age of 15, about a mile away.

– He was about to leave the scene in a vehicle, says Jakob Palmgren, police spokesperson.

Since the boy is a minor, he has now been handed over to social services. The police currently have no further suspects.

– But it is not unusual for a perpetrator to have worked with others in an act, says Jakob Palmgren.

Several people at home at the gates

Several people were in the villa, but no one was injured in the incident. The blockades were lifted shortly before midnight.

The police have filed a report of aggravated weapons offenses, aggravated unlawful threats, and causing danger to another person.

The suspect boy has been able to be questioned. More interrogations will be held in the future, both with the boy and witnesses to the incident. Any surveillance footage will also be studied.
