Air Delivered event in Shan State, Momeik Township area, Myanmar on Fri 2nd October 2026

Starting this morning, October 2, until the time of reporting, heavy fighting has persisted along the road toward Myitson and Mabein around 4-Mile in Momeik Township.

A local man said, "It's been ongoing with pauses since this morning. Right now there are sounds of heavy artillery. An aircraft also came and dropped bombs."

Around 2:00 PM in the same area, a jet fighter dropped 4 bombs, though casualty details are not yet known, according to the man.

Similarly, yesterday, October 1, KIA and allied forces carried out a drone attack on No. 2 School near the Momeik Town police station.

Although the military retook Momeik Town—which had been controlled by the Ta'ang Army—in late November 2025 with Chinese assistance, the KIA controls areas outside the town, and clashes with Military Council troops occur frequently, according to residents.

Locals say that although it has been nearly a year since the military retook Momeik Town, its administrative mechanism is still unable to function to date.
