Troops rescue kidnapped victim after pursuing terrorists in Plateau

Troops of Sector 2, Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), have rescued a kidnapped victim after pursuing suspected terrorists around Gomma Daji Village in Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred at about 1:00 p.m. on Oct. 5, when troops deployed at Kukawa responded to information on the movement of suspected terrorists on the outskirts of Gomma Daji.

The troops initiated pursuit, but the terrorists reportedly fled on motorcycles after sighting the advancing troops.

During exploitation of the area, the troops rescued a kidnapped victim who had been abandoned by the fleeing terrorists.

The victim was identified as 25-year-old Imrana Usman from Zallamg Village in Kanam Local Government Area. He was reportedly abducted near Gomma Daji.

The rescued victim was subsequently handed over to his relative, Mr Sadu Dalhatu.

Troops have continued to dominate the general area through sustained offensive operations aimed at preventing the terrorists from regrouping and carrying out further attacks.
