Mine event in Bago Region, Paungde Township area, Myanmar on Thu 1st October 2026

Comrade Shadow, military intelligence and information officer for Pyay District Battalion 1, told Khit Thit Media that a landmine attack targeting a military force advancing into Paungde Township, Pyay District, Bago Region with heavy troop strength killed 2 soldiers and severely injured 4 others.

On October 1 at around 9:10 AM, Company 4 of Pyay District Battalion 1, under the command of People's Defense Force Strategy 21, detonated landmines against a 15-man advance team of soldiers as they entered a landmine field.

The landmine attack killed 2 soldiers on the spot and severely injured 4 others. The deceased and wounded were reportedly loaded onto a vehicle carrying rations and ammunition and transported to the 100-Bed Military Hospital in Shwedaung Town.

The military column was advancing in large numbers to rotate personnel and transport rations and ammunition to the military outpost at Kyauk Gyi Taung in Agga Rar Pyae New Ward, Paungde Township.
