Projectile event in Sagaing Region, Sagaing area, Myanmar on Fri 2nd October 2026

An official from the Lin Yone Nyi Naung Guerrilla Force (Sagaing) told Khit Thit Media that heavy artillery attacks targeting a police graduation ceremony held at No. 3 Police Training School in downtown Sagaing, Sagaing Region, resulted in casualties among police personnel.

On the morning of October 2, while a police graduation ceremony was taking place inside No. 3 Police Training School in Sagaing Town, resistance forces fired two 80mm heavy artillery shells. Both shells landed and exploded directly inside the training field, causing casualties among the police. Injured and deceased police officers were subsequently carried away by two ambulances.

Additionally, on the afternoon of October 2, resistance forces launched a heavy artillery attack firing three shells near Police Battalion 16 in Sagaing Town against soldiers and police providing security for a convoy of 17 twelve-wheel trucks and 7 armored vehicles traveling from the Northwest Regional Military Command (Na Ma Kha) based in Monywa to Sagaing Division 33 Headquarters. The shells accurately struck the target area, causing casualties among soldiers and police.
