Bomb (Air Delivered) event in Sagaing Region, Chaung-U Township area, Myanmar on Fri 2nd October 2026

Local residents told Khit Thit Media that the Military Council launched nine airstrikes and machine-gun attacks on a long-term displaced persons camp in the southwestern part of Chaung-U Township, Sagaing Region, without any ongoing combat, killing two 30-year-old men on the spot and damaging displacement camps.

Yesterday, October 2, a jet fighter taking off from Meiktila Township's Shante Air Base and an Mi-35 attack helicopter taking off from Nyaung-U Air Base bombed and shot at the long-term displacement camp in southwestern Chaung-U Township nine times despite the absence of any fighting.

Locals reported that the attack involved dropping bombs—including two 300-pound bombs—as well as strafing with machine guns.

The air attack killed two 30-year-old men instantly on the spot and damaged the displacement camps.
