On 28 September 2026, the Malian army claimed to have conducted airstrikes on four positions held by armed militants (likely JNIM, based on the group's presence in and around Dioura and previous similar operations against it in the area) in the sector of Dioura (Kareri, Tenenkou, Mopti). The army claimed that the positions were 'successfully engaged' and that no movement was observed in the area after the strikes. Casualties unknown.
