On 27 September 2026, the Ethiopian Air Force (ENDF) conducted a drone strike on the Tigray Television station (one of the media outlets for the TPLF) in the Adi Shindun neighborhood of Mekele - Hawelti sub-city, Mekelle (Mekelle Tigray, Tigray). The Ethiopian Media Authority suspended Tigray TV on 21 September, a day after it aired the formation of the Alliances for Survival among the seven groups. The building was partially destroyed, with numerous windows blown out by the explosion. The station was off-air after the strike and resumed transmission the following day. There were no casualties.
