Mine event in Lebanon on Fri 2nd October 2026

On 10/1/2026, as a result of monitoring and surveillance operations at the northern and eastern borders, an army unit seized approximately 245 kg of highly explosive TNT material, 4 explosive devices, and 8 detonators for explosive devices, in addition to electrical wires specifically for explosives, while they were being smuggled from Syrian territory into the Lebanese interior. The smugglers fled toward Syrian territory immediately upon the arrival of an army patrol at the location. The seized items were handed over to the competent authorities, and follow-up and coordination are underway to apprehend those involved.
