UAV event in Anenii Noi District, Delacău-Puhăceni area, Moldova, Republic of on Sat 3rd October 2026

Several explosions were heard this morning, 3 October, in various districts of the Republic of Moldova, after several unmanned aerial vehicles flew over the country’s airspace.

At 07:50, the Căușeni Police were alerted to an explosion on the outskirts of the town of Căușeni, where thick smoke was observed. Debris from a drone was found at the scene.

Drone fragments were also found near the village of Dubovca, in Hîncești district, as well as in Anenii Noi district, between the villages of Delacău and Puhăceni.

Another incident was reported near the village of Crocmaz, in Ștefan Vodă district, where an explosion occurred in a vineyard, close to an agricultural brigade. The incident triggered a bush fire, and the windows of the agricultural brigade’s building were damaged. No casualties were reported. 

The police and the Ministry of Defence are continuing to monitor the situation and investigate the incidents, and the circumstances surrounding the explosions are yet to be established.

The authorities are urging members of the public to remain calm, to avoid areas where explosions have been reported, and not to touch or move any suspicious objects or debris. If they spot such objects, people are asked to move away and immediately call the emergency number 112.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement in which it “strongly condemns the violation of the Republic of Moldova’s airspace by five drones flying over the country’s territory, against the backdrop of the massive attacks carried out by the Russian Federation against Ukraine”. 

Debris from a drone was also found near the village of Constantinovca, in the Căușeni district, where a vegetation fire broke out following the explosion. The police state that, in total, five drones flew over the country’s airspace.
