30th September 2026
On September 30, Security Forces (SFs) recovered a Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) weapons dump containing a 12-bore rifle, 11 live cartridges and two printers during a search operation in the forested and hilly area between Daguntola and Pusgatta villages in Kanker District, Chhattisgarh, along the Kanker-Gadchiroli border, reports ETV Bharat. Personnel of the 94th Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) were conducting an anti-Naxal and demining operation when they located the cache concealed inside a mountain cave. Kanker Superintendent of Police (SP) Nikhil Rakhecha confirmed the recovery. According to the SP, the cache contained a 12-bore rifle, 11 live cartridges and two printers. The printers may have been used by Maoist cadres to produce pamphlets or other propaganda material, although their specific use was not independently established. The recovery comes amid continued search operations in Maoist-affected areas of southern Chhattisgarh. Police and SFs continued searches in the area following the recovery to locate any additional weapons, ammunition or other material concealed in the vicinity.
