On September 28, National Citizen Party (NCP) leader identified as Taohidul Islam Taohid was attacked and injured by local Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) activists in Baktaboli Bazar area under Baktaboli Union of Fatullah of Narayanganj District, reports The Daily Star. Sonia Akter Lubna, secretary of the Narayanganj NCP's publicity sub-committee, said, “The NCP leaders protested the soil cutting and spoke about it. Following those remarks, local BNP leaders and activists attacked us with sharp weapons. Our leader Taohidul was seriously injured and his head was split open.”
