24th September 2026
On September 24, four Tangkhul Naga civilians were reportedly shot dead near Pilong village in Kamjong District, Manipur, near Border Pillars 91-93, close to the India-Myanmar border, reports India TodayNE. The deceased were identified as Phami Jajo, Betterson Jajo, Vareishim Jajo and Ningthem Kashak. A fifth civilian, Akhan Kaping reportedly escaped and subsequently informed villagers and authorities. The Working Committee of Tangkhul Naga Long (WC-TNL) alleged that cadres of the Myanmar-based Kuki National Army-Burma (KNA-B) and armed Kuki elements backed by the Myanmar-based Peoples Defence Force (PDF) carried out the attack. The allegation was subsequently repeated by Kaping, who said KNA-B cadres attacked the border settlement.
